INGREDIENTS Serves: 2

For the Steak ๐Ÿฅฉ:

  • 2 steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or rump โ€“ approx. 250g each)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Herbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 knob of butter
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1 garlic clove, lightly crushed (optional)

For the Fries ๐ŸŸ:

  • 500g potatoes, cut into fries
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ยฝ teaspoon black pepper

For the Golden Cumin Chimichurri ๐ŸŒฟโœจ:

  • 1 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 small clove garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon Golden Cumin spice blend
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar (or lemon juice)
  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • ยฝ teaspoon salt
  • ยฝ teaspoon chilli flakes (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Prepare the Fries ๐ŸŸ:

  • Preheat the oven to 200ยฐC (400ยฐF).
  • Toss the cut potatoes with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  • Spread in a single layer on a lined baking tray and roast for 25โ€“30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.

Season the Steak ๐Ÿฅฉ:

  • Pat the steaks dry with paper towel.
  • Rub with olive oil, Italian Herbs, salt, and black pepper.
  • Let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.

Make the Golden Cumin Chimichurri ๐ŸŒฟ:

  • In a bowl, combine parsley, garlic, Golden Cumin spice blend, red wine vinegar (or lemon juice), olive oil, salt, and chilli flakes (if using).
  • Mix well and set aside to let the flavours develop.

  • Heat a heavy pan or skillet over high heat.
  • Add a little olive oil and sear the steaks for 2โ€“3 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust for your preferred doneness).
  • Add butter, garlic, and herbs in the final minute and baste the steaks for extra flavour.

  • Remove the steaks from the pan and rest for 5 minutes.
  • Slice and serve with crispy fries and a generous spoonful of Golden Cumin Chimichurri over the top.
